El Portil is connected to Huelva by 15 kilometers. It gives a great possibility to connect to other emblamatic nearby towns in Andalusia or Costa de la luz.

For example, you can visit El Rompido, located 4 kilometers to the west of El Portil, as well as visit Punta Umbria which is the same distance towards the east.

Other localities are Huelve which is 15kms aways and from there you can go to Moguer, the town where Juan Ramon Jimenez was born, as well as Palos de la frontera where Columbuses ships The Pinta the Nina and the Santa Maria sailed off from. There is also the National Park of Donana. Once in Almonte you can also visit the area of El Rocio.
